Roberto Núñez // National BA

What’s your background?

I was born in Guadalajara, México — the same birth place as Tequila. I come from a family involved in restaurants and became familiar early on with the industry. Early on, I joined the seminary, studying to be a catholic priest. I lived in Spain and Italy where I graduated with a master’s degree in Philosophy. I worked as a professor and an educator for several years before working in the insurance business and obtaining a second master’s degree in neurolinguistic programming. Life was good in insurance, but my adventurous spirit and desire to improve led to my immigration to the USA

As an immigrant, I was welcomed by the service industry. My multicultural experience from around the world, plus years cooking and serving tables in the seminary came in handy. I worked my way up in bars and restaurants in Boston and, in 2020, I joined the opening crew of Faces Brewing Co., where eventually I would become the GM. In 2021 I competed in Patrón Perfectionists, making it all the way to the US finals. Since then, I’ve collaborated on several projects with Patrón and am now excited to be working as a National Programming and Events Specialist.

What are you excited about in this role?

I’m excited about being able to influence bar culture around the world. Working in programming, I’ll get to educate people in the industry and hopefully help them to better understand one of the most amazing Mexican products: tequila.

Why Patrón?

Patrón is tequila and I love tequila. Patrón is not just a good tequila but a great tequila, and is made in the best way possible. It also has the best team to work with. Patrón helps my people and does more than any other brand. And, Patrón is from Jalisco, just as I am.

Any hobbies?

Mixology, Formula 1, chess, skiing, soccer, baseball, photography and design.

A Patrón tequila shot and a good song for singing and dancing.

Billy Killin // LA/OC

What’s your background?

Canadian! But my inner Rock N’ Roll has been pulling me to LA for a very long time now. Life goals.

What are you excited about in this role?

People, places, and PATRON! Can’t wait to meet the industry folk that make LA come together, and to share that love through my favorite Tequila.

Why Patrón?

As a white Canadian coming into the agave world, seeing how this brand not only goes above and beyond for their employees, but the sheer amount they do for the local and Mexican community as a whole is incredibly reassuring that the job I get to do is benefitting the right people. Also, have you tried the juice?! Speaks for itself.

Vero Chaparro // NYC

What’s your background?

I was born and raised in Miami to Colombian parents. I’m a fluent Spanish speaker and an older sister to my blood sisters and to all my friends.

What are you excited about in this role?

I’m excited to be back in NYC, first and foremost. This city thrives on community and I love nothing more than community building. NYC is a top market when it comes to hospitality, making it both incredible when it comes to education about brands, (the questions that come up always keep me learning!) but also challenging because I want nothing more than to crack the code on memorable and impactful events in a market that is beyond congested with many other brands looking to do the same. Our NYC team has shown nothing but support and I can’t wait to absolutely own this city alongside them.

Why Patrón?

Most people expect the worst from a company and brand as large as Patrón, and I am beyond stoked to be ablet to tell all the stories that have and will continue to make it the best in the biz! I also love a good challenge, though the incredible roots of the juice make it easy to love it! Also… the incredible teams make it that much easier to love the work we are about to do.

Any hobbies?

Hiking, biking, lounging, TV watching, petting dogs, eating snacks, and traveling!

Any obsessions?

My soda stream. Bubble water now and forever!

Favorite city other than your own?

Charlotte, North Carolina. I plan on living there someday!

Favorite nightcap drink?

Patrón Reposado Hot Toddy

What’s your pump-up song?

Anything Dua Lipa turns the vibes all the way up!

Tacos or burritos?

Tacos, without a doubt.

How do you get the party started?

Disco music, a little baby shot of my fave Patrón Silver and a nice cold cerveza always get the party started!

Zak Doy // Southern Florida

What’s your background?

I’m originally Alberta-born (it’s like the Wyoming of Canada), son to a mom that immigrated to Miami in the 70’s from Southeast Asia, and a dad that was second generation Scottish French Canadian.

What are you excited about in this role?

I’m overjoyed to be part of the legacy of such an iconic brand that is handcrafted by real people in a small batch format. Every time I talk about our story, I proudly represent every single person that gives their all to make our family succeed and grow.

Why Patrón?

It’s the world’s #1 super premium tequila that still does right by its people, its process and the environment. These things are all very important to me and Patrón is the real deal.

Any hobbies?

I love hockey and the outdoors. Except camping. To tents I say, hell no”.

Any obsessions?

I have an unhealthy love affair with chocolate.

Favorite city other than your own?

New York. She’s a spicy apple and I sure have a lot of fun when I visit.

Favorite nightcap drink?

A nice warm Patrón Reposado.

What’s your pump-up song?

OMG… there are so many. Right now, it’s a tie between Bounce by Calvin Harris and Pepas by Farruko.

Tacos or burritos?

Tacos! No question.

How do you get the party started?

To me, life is about the rise. The rise in levels, the rise in volume, the rise in energy. I bring that to every place I go.

Aaron Wang // Dallas, TX

What’s your background?

I was born in Appleton, Wisconsin but got to Texas as fast as I could! I’ve been in the bar and restaurant business for a very long time. I’m not going to tell you how long because that would give away my age and I’m just not ready to do that quite yet. Growing up my parents always owned restaurants, so I knew that was my calling from a young age.

What are you excited about in this role?

Hitting the streets and meeting new people. I’m a people person and I love meeting new people. Also, educating the people on agave spirits. There’s a lot of hard work that goes into making tequila and I want to share that knowledge with everyone.

Why Patrón?

I love how Patrón is just pure and real. They make an incredible product without cutting corners. Patrón could easily save a ton of money by cutting corners, but they don’t. It’s a large-scale production with a small craft distillery vibe. And best of all, they are so good to the 2500 people that work for them at the Hacienda. Everyone is treated equally and like family. What’s not to love about Patrón!

Any hobbies?

I love cooking BBQ. I’m not talking about that BBQ in Kansas that they slather sauce all over. I’m talking about just smoke and meat. Brisket is king in Texas and that’s what I love to smoke. Every time I cook it’s a challenge, and I love challenges.

Any obsessions?

My wife, kids and basketball. I could be having the worst day in the world and as soon as I speak to my family, I’m happy. It’s the same with basketball. It’s my getaway for a few hours. Just hitting the court helps me not to have a worry in the world for those few hours.

Favorite city other than your own?

Chicago. I fell in love with that city when my wife took me there for a surprise birthday trip. The food and nightlife scenes are just awesome.

Favorite nightcap drink?

Do shots count as a drink? Because if it does then it would be a shot of Patrón Añejo.

What’s your pump-up song?

Welcome to the Jungle” by Guns and Roses. Yes, I know I’m old, thanks.

Tacos or burritos?

Is this even a real question? Tacos! My wife and I eat tacos at least 3 – 4 times a week. It’s part of our weekly healthy diet.

How do you get the party started?

Shots of Patrón! I’m the type of drinker that will have one cocktail in my hand all night but get excited to share shots,

Samuel Jimenez // SF

What’s your background?

I am southern California-born and Bay Area-raised from Hayward, CA. Born to two immigrant parents, I am first generation Mexican-American & Samoan-American. I have worked at and operated some very prestigious bars and restaurants in the Bay Area, most notably Prizefighter, The Interval at Long Now, Blind Tiger & most recently directing the beverage program at Casa del Toro.

What are you excited about in this role?

There is so much to be excited for. I have a long history with Patrón and I’m so excited to be able to represent a brand that I love in the region that I love so deeply. My father is from Guadalajara so if I were to narrow it down, I’m most excited to represent the region my father is from, where Patrón does so much for the people and community.

Why Patrón?

It was only ever going to be Patrón. The brand’s identity, at its core, is so reflective of my own. It’s about the people behind the bottle. The 62 hands. Doing things the correct way from farming to bottling and being good to all of those people in the process. It’s what I truly believe in. Work hard and be good to people.

Any hobbies?

I have a lot of hobbies mostly having to do with fitness. I grew up playing sports and basketball is still a big part of my life, both playing and coaching. I love lifting weights in all forms; olympic, powerlifting, bodybuilding, etc. I don’t like running but I do it as a challenge. I also may be making a professional wrestling debut soon. Outside of sports and fitness, I love doing home projects, cooking, spending time with family, writing, dominoes, old school lowriders, and live music. Basically, I love life.

Any obsessions?

I’m obsessed with lists. Top 5 greatest basketball players, Top 10 greatest fast food chains, Top 20 greatest animated movies. I’m obsessed with making lists. And professional wrestling & The World of Ice & Fire” by George R.R. Martin.

Favorite city other than your own?

The two that immediately come to mind are Toronto and Guadalajara.

Favorite nightcap drink?

Neat Burdeos, please.

What’s your pump-up song?

Despierta by Maya (Over Eyes)

Tacos or burritos?

There is no or”. It’s Tacos AND Burritos. But if I’m choosing just one, tacos.

How do you get the party started?

As I have told my staff for years: When all else fails, get drinks in hands, baby!

Dan Sutherland // San Diego

What’s your background?

The story of Daniel begins in the humble fishing island of Gloucester, Massachusetts, also known as home to The Perfect Storm, a drinking town with a fishing problem, and where that Wicked Tuna show took place.

I then moved to San Diego after my English & Philosophy studies at college led to road tripping with my bandmates (sorry, Mom). I ended up settling on the lower end of SoCal because we were too towny” for LA or SF

Now I am a seasoned San Diego hospitality professional geared to mentor those in the cocktail and spirit realm. The winds of experience gusting my sails towards a focus on agave, which is the preferred spirit of California… lucky me.

What are you excited about in this role?

There is nothing about this role that doesn’t interest me. We are all here because we are curious critters, but if I were to name two it would be my ability to impact the San Diego community in this leadership role and the chance to create memories through mentorship while sharing my journey. A final third would be all the fun toasts that will ensue.

Why Patrón?

It always seems cooler to be a part of the small brands, but that couldn’t be farther from the truth. The gravity of working for 2500 families who help to create Patrón has more depth and gravitas. The tribe is thick.

Any hobbies?

All things beverage. Guitar and singing my heart out. I am also an amateur botanist with a passion for eastern medicine and home-grown foods. I’m passionate about history, spirituality and philosophy too – Philosophize This and Buddhist Bootcamp are my favorite Podcasts.

Any obsessions?

Lately wood working, my chickens, and anime. Does anyone want me to build them a bench? Need fresh eggs from the hens? Want to go to an anime festival? Mark me down! Can’t leave out Paul Chek and his vast mentoring of the human body, mind and soul. Also, Mexican food and spirits, of course.

Favorite city other than your own?

The island of Kauai. I really want to build a retirement bar there. Fresh fruits, Menehune, and green hills. Plus, the locals are splendid.

Favorite nightcap drink?

Reposado Revolver

What’s your pump-up song?

Queens of the Stone Age, My God is the Sun

Tacos or burritos?

Don’t make me choose. Okay, fine, tacos because you can try more of them.

How do you get the party started?

Always read the room first. Then adjust for max efficiency. When in doubt, shots of Patrón usually work too. Why go down when you can go up?
